TRC provided structural engineering services for Trade Center 6, 7, and 9 — a combined 777,750-square-foot high-bay industrial development designed for large-scale distribution and logistics operations.
Trade Center 6 includes a 500,000-square-foot single-story facility with an approximate building footprint of 1,250 feet by 400 feet. The structures utilize site-cast, 7¼-inch-thick concrete tilt-up wall panels — also designed by TRC — supported by HSS 16x8x3/8 steel tube columns founded on 24-inch and 36-inch straight-shaft drilled piers extending approximately four feet into bearing strata. A joist and joist girder roof system provides long-span efficiency, consisting of 30-inch-deep joists supported by 44- or 48-inch-deep joist girders depending on location.
The buildings were engineered around a typical bay spacing of 52'-0" by 46'-8", with an expanded 60-foot speed bay at the dock doors to accommodate high-volume loading operations. Floor systems consist of a 6-inch slab-on-grade reinforced with #3 bars at 18 inches on center each way, increasing to a 7½-inch slab in areas designed for heavy rack loading. Moment frames were incorporated to resist lateral wind forces, and the facilities were designed to meet a 32-foot clear height requirement with provisions to increase to 36 feet.
The completed Trade Center facilities deliver durable, high-capacity industrial space optimized for constructability, structural efficiency, and modern logistics performance.
