As part of the major expansion of the Savannah Georgia Convention Center, a new multi-level parking structure was developed to support increased event capacity and visitor demand while integrating seamlessly with the broader mixed-use facility.
The vertically integrated garage is incorporated within the convention center expansion and provides structured parking across multiple elevated levels, supporting efficient circulation and direct connectivity to exhibit, meeting, and ballroom spaces. The parking program is carefully coordinated within the overall building mass, which combines assembly, mechanical, and parking occupancies in a highly efficient stacked configuration.
TRC provided precast engineering services for the parking structure, developing a precast concrete framing system tailored to the project’s hybrid structural environment. The precast solution was coordinated to align with the structural steel and concrete framing of the convention center while maintaining the open-deck performance criteria required for the S-2 parking occupancy.
Particular attention was given to ventilation compliance, fire separation requirements, and the integration of ramped circulation within the multilevel layout. The resulting structure delivers durable, high-capacity parking that supports the convention center’s expanded program while maintaining constructability and long-term performance.
