TRC Worldwide Engineering provided structural engineering services for the primary 35,000-square-foot firing range facility, which anchors a much larger training complex comparable in scale to a regional commercial center. The structure was designed to accommodate specialized programmatic requirements, including high-bay training spaces, integrated simulation environments, and reinforced zones to support ballistic performance and safety.
The facility moves beyond traditional static range layouts, incorporating immersive training environments such as “Hogan’s Alley” configurations that simulate real-world urban conditions. Structural coordination supported the integration of advanced lighting systems, moving target assemblies, and adaptable interior layouts that allow for dynamic training scenarios.
Additional program elements include dedicated armory and maintenance areas, secure ammunition storage, and adjacent classroom spaces that enable seamless transitions between instruction and live-fire exercises. Designed to meet Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) requirements, the facility establishes a consistent, high-quality training environment for agencies statewide.
